Isaberg, one of Sweden's premier destinations for outdoor activities and skiing, has developed a modern digital platform in collaboration with Toxic to enhance its online presence and optimize the customer experience. The platform integrates several booking systems and customizes content based on the season, making it easier for guests to find and book activities. In this case, we focus on how the new solution has created a smoother and more cohesive experience for Isaberg's visitors year-round.

The challenge

Before the new website was launched, Isaberg faced the challenge of managing separate websites for the two different business areas and the companies Stiftelsen Isabergstoppen and Isaberg Höganloft. This created a confusing user experience where guests had difficulty navigating and booking activities, accommodations, or restaurant visits.

Additionally, it was difficult for Isaberg to effectively communicate seasonal offers and adjust content based on the season. To meet the growing needs and improve the customer journey, they needed a solution that could unify their different systems and create a more dynamic and user-friendly website.

About Isaberg Mountain Resort

Isaberg is one of Sweden's premier destinations for outdoor activities and skiing, with over 100 years of history. The facility attracts both local visitors and international guests, especially from Denmark, and offers activities in a nature-oriented environment. In addition to ski slopes and outdoor activities, modern facilities such as a cabin village, camping, and a restaurant are available. With its long history and continuous development, this is a destination that welcomes visitors year-round.

Flexible and seasonally adapted platform

To meet Isaberg's needs, a new website has been developed by Toxic where all business areas are gathered on a common platform. With a flexible grid-block structure, the content can easily be adapted according to season and target audience. The platform, built in Umbraco 13, enables efficient language management in both English and Swedish and ensures fast loading times and smooth navigation – even for high-resolution images and videos.

Visibility and engagement year-round

We implemented tracking and optimized Isaberg's presence in digital channels such as Google Ads, social media (Meta), and SEO, with the goal of increasing their visibility and engagement online. Since the business is seasonal, flexible campaigns were designed that can be activated or paused as needed, for example during snowfall. Additionally, a base of campaigns was created that their marketing department can easily manage.

The result

The new platform, developed by Toxic, has improved the customer experience by offering a fast and cohesive website where visitors can easily explore Isaberg's operations. By bringing all parts together on a common platform, administration has also been streamlined, making it easier for Isaberg to market activities year-round.

Through strategic optimization, we at Toxic have managed to increase the number of engaged visitors. Google Ads has contributed significantly more visits and engaging sessions, which shows that we attract more relevant traffic that engages more deeply with the content. Paid Social has also generated a higher proportion of engaged sessions with advertising, confirming that the optimizations reach the right target audience and drive quality traffic to the site.

The atmosphere is inviting, and everywhere you see signs of the many opportunities that await – bike paths, hiking trails, ski facilities, high ropes course, pump track, disc golf, and the toboggan run that winds down the slope – yes, the list of activities is long. With this digital initiative, ESBE, together with Toxic, aims to provide its customers and partners with a better digital experience, both in terms of functionality and visually with a new design. Litium was chosen as the platform and Toxic was responsible for the development, in order to meet the requirements for PIM and language versions that existed.
