Toxic enters into partnership with Meson Group for web and PIM on Litium

Meson Group, which is part of Indutrade, is a leading supplier of valves and flow control products to the global marine industry. With headquarters in Laholm, sales offices in Europe and Asia, and a large network of distributors, Meson works with technologically advanced products and extensive information flows. To strengthen its digital presence and create a more scalable management of product data, they have chosen Toxic as a partner to develop a new global website and implement Litium PIM.

About Meson Group

Meson Group is an established player in valves and flow control for the marine industry and part of the industrial group Indutrade. The company provides products, systems, and technical support to customers worldwide. Meson works with a long-term focus on quality, sustainability, and service, and has built a strong position in an industry where technical expertise and access to accurate information are critical.

Background to the Initiative

Meson’s product portfolio includes around 20,000 core items and up to 95,000 product variants. These products are used in advanced systems onboard ships, handling fuel, lubricating oil, ballast water, cooling, ventilation, and fire protection. Large vessels can contain thousands of valves, forming essential parts of the technical infrastructure - making accurate and easily accessible product data crucial.

Today, Meson operates in two ERP environments: Business Central in Sweden and Monitor in China. At the same time, product data is managed in a custom-built internal PIM system that has become difficult to scale globally and requires extensive manual work. To reduce duplication, centralize information, and improve efficiency for both internal teams and customers, there is a clear need for a modern and more integrated solution.

Step 1: New Global Website and Litium PIM Setup

In the first phase of the project, we will develop a new global website in Litium Commerce Cloud. The design is based on Toxic’s storefront and tailored to Meson’s international audiences and their need for clear and structured product information.

At the same time, we are implementing Litium PIM, where the data model is designed to handle Meson’s extensive product volumes, variant logic, technical attributes, and multilingual requirements.

A key part of the work is importing the first 5,000 items from Meson’s internal database. This will serve as the foundation for structuring and visualizing the data, as well as establishing a more consistent way of working with product information.

We will also develop a PDF generator to automate the creation of product data sheets - streamlining a process that is currently time-consuming. On the website, we will implement a quotation flow where users can collect products into a list and submit a request without completing a purchase.

Step 2: Integrations and Customer Portal

Once the core platform is in place, the project will move forward with ERP integration. The goal is to create a more automated flow where product data, pricing, and updates are synchronized efficiently and reliably between systems and the website.

We will also develop a customer portal where logged-in customers and distributors can access customer-specific pricing, order history, data sheets, drawings, and certificates. The portal enables users to work more independently while providing a clear overview of products and previous orders.

Expected Results and Long-Term Impact

By consolidating the website, product data, and key workflows within Litium, Meson will benefit from a more efficient and future-proof structure. This is expected to reduce manual work, improve data quality, and accelerate the publishing of updated information.

The new platform also provides a solid foundation for global expansion and strengthens Meson’s service offering to customers and distributors - particularly in areas where technical documentation is essential.
