We are the only Swedish agency nominated for the Umbraco Awards four years in a row!

For the fourth year in a row, we at Toxic are nominated for the Umbraco Awards and we are the only Swedish agency with this achievement. This time in the category "Best Cloud Solution" with the web solution for NordGen – a project where the focus has been on editorial freedom, efficient workflow, and long-term sustainability.

"We have been working with Umbraco for many years and have spent a lot of time becoming really good at it. Four nominations in a row is not something you stumble into – it is a testament that our way of working actually makes a difference. We know what it takes to bring together technology, design, and usability into a cohesive whole that works, and we do it with both sharpness and commitment."
– Kalle Ekstrand, founder and sales manager at Toxic Interactive Solutions

As a Platinum Partner to Umbraco, we have an established role in the community and long experience of working in Umbraco. It’s not just about us knowing the technology, but also about knowing how to build websites that are not only visually appealing but also load quickly, are easy to work in, and stand the test of time. We have helped many clients transition from complicated and outdated websites to solutions that actually work – something we are truly passionate about.

Being nominated year after year shows that we succeed in combining technology, design, and editor-friendliness – something that is evident both in the results and in the positive feedback from our clients. Now we look forward to the winners being announced at Codegarden 2025 in Odense, Denmark. Of course, we hope for a win, but we are already very proud to have reached the finals for the fourth year in a row.

NordGen: A solution built for control, efficiency, and accessibility

NordGen, the Nordic Gene Bank, works to preserve biodiversity in agriculture. To support this important mission, they needed a modern web platform that offered more flexibility than their previous WordPress solution.

In the nominated project, we built a new solution on Umbraco Cloud that allows editors to manage content themselves. They can now update news, plan events, and manage EU-funded projects without relying on external help.

“The new solution gives NordGen full control. They can create pages, organize content, and publish news independently – while the website remains modern, easy to navigate, and fully tailored to their needs.”

– Alice Göthberg, Web Developer at Toxic Interactive Solutions

With automated CI/CD flows, a customized framework, and an improved structure, we’ve streamlined the technical work while increasing accessibility for both editors and visitors.

The website is optimized for long-term performance – with fast loading, multilingual support, smart fallbacks, and an enhanced search flow. Editors can now easily link related news, projects, and events, making content more relevant and accessible for visitors.
