NIBU takes the next step in its digital development and chooses Toxic as a partner when building a new e-commerce solution in Litium. The goal is to create a fast, clear, and user-friendly experience for both B2B and B2C customers, as well as to simplify internal processes with a platform that lasts over time.
About NIBU
NIBU operates in the Norwegian market and is part of the Salix Home & Hardware business area, which belongs to the industrial group Volati - a Nordic trading group with a long history and several strong businesses within construction, industry, and home improvement. NIBU is a sister company to Beslag Design and offers similar products, such as fittings and interior details, with a focus on quality, design, and accessibility for professional retailers.
Background to the Initiative
The current WooCommerce solution has limitations that make it difficult for NIBU to continue scaling at the same pace as its product range and market. Much of the work is still handled manually, and the platform lacks support for advanced order history, stock status, and a professional B2C experience. The need for a future-oriented and scalable solution has therefore become clear.
An Initiative to Elevate Both Customer Experience and Ways of Working
With the new platform, NIBU aims to increase the share of B2B orders via the web from today’s 15 percent to 50 percent. They also want to build a modern B2C store with strong growth potential, while reducing the workload on customer service through smarter and more automated processes.
A key goal is to create a fast and seamless customer journey for both professionals and consumers, while establishing a technical foundation that strengthens the brand and supports long-term development.
All product and pricing information will be retrieved directly from their existing business systems - Bison ERP and Feed PIM - improving data quality and reducing the need for manual work.
Why Litium Is the Right Choice
Litium offers features that align well with NIBU’s needs. The platform is particularly strong in B2B, supporting customer-specific pricing, company accounts, roles, and order history. It is stable, fast, and integrates well with both PIM and ERP systems.
An additional advantage is that NIBU can build on the same codebase and components already used by its sister company within the Salix Group, resulting in a more cost-efficient and unified solution.
Two Channels, One Shared Foundation
The new solution in Litium is built to support both B2B and B2C, with separate channels but a shared technical foundation. This allows the customer experience to be tailored to each target audience, while simplifying operations and ensuring a more sustainable development over time.
“We are happy to collaborate with Toxic and look forward to transitioning to a new and improved web platform in spring 2026,” says Bente Leikvoll, Marketing Manager at NIBU.
Overall, the initiative provides NIBU with a modern and scalable platform that strengthens its digital presence and creates strong conditions for continued growth in the Norwegian market. We look forward to being part of that journey.
