New framework agreement strengthens the partnership between Toxic and Infranord

After several years of collaboration, Toxic and Infranord are taking the next step. Through a new framework agreement, Toxic will become a long-term development partner responsible for both new development and management of Infranord's internal systems – with a focus on modern front-end development and a more integrated working method.
The new framework agreement means that Infranord hires a development team from Toxic to support the development of internal systems, primarily within front-end.
– This collaboration allows us to contribute on a larger scale. We are moving from developing individual components to shaping, designing, and building new solutions together with Infranord,” says Daniel Eriksson, CEO of Toxic.
From Smaller Projects to Full Responsibility
Toxic has worked with Infranord for over six years, mainly on smaller development projects related to apps and internal systems. With the new agreement, the collaboration takes a new direction, with Toxic now responsible for both further development and maintenance of Infranord’s web applications.
– We have gone from handling individual assignments to taking responsibility for the whole. Now we modernize systems and build new solutions together with their backend team. The framework agreement allows Infranord to scale up or down depending on needs, providing both security and flexibility. Essentially, they can hire their own development team from Toxic and adjust the scope over time, says Daniel.
Infranord uses consultants from another technical partner for backend development, and the collaboration between the teams is close and continuous.
– We have a close and ongoing collaboration with their backend developers. We have weekly meetings to synchronize work between frontend and backend, as well as open day-to-day communication to quickly solve any issues that arise,” says Lucas Ahlgren, web developer at Toxic.
A Growing Partnership
–The exciting part of the collaboration is that we can now work on a larger scale and take a broader approach to their digital solutions. Previously, we mostly worked on pre-defined tasks, but now we are involved already in the requirements phase, contributing ideas, sketches, and mockups in feasibility studies. This allows us to create even more value for Infranord, says Daniel.
Josef Kajaji, project manager at Toxic, explains that the new approach to requirements and feasibility studies is based on transparency, participation, and continuous communication.
– We have established a new workflow where our consulting team drives requirements gathering and feasibility studies on behalf of Infranord, with a clear focus on openness and collaboration. We work independently and are responsible for collecting needs, analyzing requirements, and preparing decision support, but we always do it in close dialogue with Infranord through recurring check-ins and joint reviews, he says.
This setup allows work to progress even between meetings, without Infranord needing to be operationally involved in every step. At the same time, they have full visibility and can influence the process along the way. The result is faster deliveries, clearer decision support, and more consistent quality in both requirements gathering and feasibility studies, explains Josef.
A concrete example is when a feasibility study began by analyzing the existing system documentation provided by Infranord. From this, a “Solution Intent” was created – a living framework to gather requirements, goals, and technical considerations in a structured way. This makes it easier to make well-founded decisions and shortens project lead times.
The Technician App – A Joint Initiative
One of the ongoing projects is the “Technician App,” developed in multiple phases using modern front-end technology, aimed at simplifying the daily work of Infranord’s technicians.
“The Technician App, or TEA, consolidates several of Infranord’s internal systems into a single platform. Technically, we are using Next.js along with the latest in React, such as Server Components. The app is built on a headless architecture, allowing frontend and backend to be developed independently, says Lucas.
Development follows the CI/CD principle (Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery), where building, testing, and deploying code is automated.
– This allows us to quickly and securely deliver new features and updates,” continues Lucas.
The goal is to create a responsive and user-friendly experience where technicians do not need to log into multiple systems or switch between interfaces. Everything is gathered in one place, reducing friction and saving time.
– We work modularly in phases, with each module focusing on a specific area but sharing common building blocks such as design, authentication, and API integrations. This makes development both efficient and scalable, explains Lucas.
The collaboration also involves a new approach to requirements and feasibility studies. The team can now drive the work independently while maintaining close collaboration with the client, making the process faster, clearer, and more sustainable over time, adds Josef.
A Modern and Unified Website
The collaboration has also included updating Infranord’s website to align with their new brand identity. Toxic implemented the new profile, developed the design in Umbraco, and improved the user experience to create a modern and unified website.
The new website makes it easier for the entire organization to work more consistently and manage orders more clearly.
A Collaboration That Evolves
– This way of working has created stronger trust and clearer roles. Infranord knows that we drive the work forward and receive ongoing visibility without needing to be involved in all operational tasks. At the same time, we can work more proactively and focused,” says Josef.
He believes that more companies will need to work in a similar way in the future.
– Many organizations want to see results quickly but do not have the time or resources to drive requirements and feasibility studies themselves. A setup where a consulting team works independently but with clear touchpoints and transparency is a natural next step,” he says.
– The most exciting part is that we can truly drive the work forward independently while closely collaborating with the client. We can work strategically, efficiently, and solution-oriented, knowing that everything we do directly relates to the client’s needs and goals. This creates engagement and long-term sustainability,” Josef concludes.
