Norrviken

When Norrviken wanted to strengthen its digital presence, Toxic was entrusted to create a unified web platform, built in Umbraco, that elevates their entire operation – with the park and visitor experience at the center. The new solution makes it easier to inspire, inform, and guide visitors year-round. As part of the platform, Toxic has also developed an e-commerce solution in Umbraco Commerce, integrated with the business system HiCore via our integration engine EntityFlow.

About Norrviken

Norrviken Gardens is an award-winning garden facility and experience destination in Båstad, where historical style gardens meet contemporary art, culture, shopping, and gastronomy. With roots in Rudolf Abelins' vision from 1905, Norrviken is today a destination in constant motion – with concerts, exhibitions, a shop, chocolateria, restaurants, and family activities that attract over 100,000 visitors each year.

Customer's challenge

To take the next digital step, Norrviken wanted to gather its web environment in a shared, flexible platform that reflects the entire operation – with the park and visitor experience in focus. The previous solution was based on separate WordPress sites, which made it difficult to create a unified expression and work effectively with content.

As part of the development, there was also a need to add e-commerce and enable integration with the store's business system – all to create a whole that simplifies things for both visitors and editors.

Our solution

The project began with a joint workshop where Toxic, together with the Norrviken team, went through challenges, needs, and visions for the coming three years. We analyzed the current situation, identified development opportunities, and set a clear direction for the continued work. The insights from the workshop formed the basis for extensive UX and design work where we developed prototypes that helped us prioritize the right functionality and ensure that the solution was built based on the users' needs.

Our collaboration with Toxic began when we faced the task of redesigning the Norrviken Gardens website and adding e-commerce to Butik Norrviken. Migration and consolidation of websites

At the same time that we at Toxic built the e-commerce site, we migrated the existing Wordpress site to a modern platform in Umbraco. The goal was to consolidate the entire digital presence and create better conditions for working strategically with content and marketing.

With the new platform, Norrviken can easily create and update pages, customize information according to season and events, and manage all content in a more flexible and efficient way. Toxic built the solution with a focus on user experience, structure, editor-friendliness, and scalability, which gives Norrviken the opportunity to grow digitally in line with its investments. The new website also highlights Norrviken's unique identity and offers an improved and more cohesive experience for visitors.

The result

The new solution, developed by Toxic, gives Norrviken better control over its content, products, and customer communication. E-commerce is now a natural extension of the store and the park's atmosphere – accessible to customers all over Sweden. The editorial team has received better tools, and the consolidated site makes it easier to maintain and further develop the content.

SP Machines

Together with SP Maskiner, we have launched a new webshop built on Umbraco Commerce that addresses previous technical challenges and delivers a fast and user-friendly experience. The solution handles orders for spare parts and aggregates smoothly and is built to meet SP Maskiner's current and future needs. When SP Maskiner later upgraded its business system from Monitor G4 to Monitor G5, they also took the opportunity to modernize the integration solution. With EntityFlow as the integration engine, a more scalable and robust integration platform was created that ensures stable data flows between the webshop and the business system.

ILCO Intestinal, Urological and Stoma Association, a nationwide patient organization for people with diseases or functional changes in the intestines and urinary tract, has launched a new platform in Umbraco 13 together with Toxic. The new website makes it easier to recruit members, conduct advocacy work, and spread knowledge to both patients and relatives – while being built for sustainability with modern technology and an improved user experience.
